Since every action is intended to meet a need, discovering our own and others' needs makes empathy much easier. Thus, we can transform judgments and labels into understanding.
We'll practice empathetically receiving what people are saying and requesting.  That includes empathy with ourselves and others who are frustrated, hurt, scared, etc.

Points

  • ••Turning criticism and labeling of others into compassionate understanding
  • ••Learning empathy with myself and with others who are angry, hurt, sad, scared, etc.
  • ••Practicing empathy with "No"
  • ••Responding with empathy when I haven't met the needs of others or myself
  • ••Expressing needs that are not easy to express
