"N-O, the scariest two letters in the alphabet. Being fully alive means being able to say YES to what you really want and No to what does not serve you. Being able to say and hear No without guilt, hurt, or anger is a gateway to a more authentic and respectful relationship. Saying 'no' in NVC is more joyful because others can hear the ‘yes!’ that is in your heart. Likewise, when someone No's you, you can release your fear of rejection because you can hear what they are saying “yes” to.
The Gift of No-ing is about more time, space, and energy for what makes your heart sing. It is also about having more satisfying relationships as you are being more authentic with your need
