Go beyond the four-step model in this six-session series, exploring the consciousness and practice of NVC in a full 18 hours of interactive, transformative learning. In this class, you'll experience guided role plays to gain insight into improving and enriching your relationships, discover how to hear what someone is longing for in their heart (even when they use critical, judgmental language), and learn to nurture peace in your life, work and community.

Class 1 is Sunday, February 18th, 1:00-4:00 p.m. and is FREE and open to all. Classes 2 through 6 meet weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, 2/20 through 3/20.

In this class you will have the opportunity to:

  • Try role plays to experiment with new ways of approaching a situation, all in a thoroughly nurturing environment with lots of support and as much guidance as you like.
  • Work with Conal or Holly role playing a person with whom you have a lot to say, but would never dare to. We'll receive you with deepest empathy and caring so you get heard and understood, and perhaps are able to gain some new inspiration around your relationship.
  • Bring your own personal experiences for transformation and exploration in a variety of exercises, role plays, and empathy sessions.

Visit our website, Awakening Compassion, for more information about our classes and services.

Who is it for?

This class will be useful both to those new to NVC and those with some NVC experience. All are welcome to attend the first session on Sunday, February 18th to find out more about the series.

We recommend reading "Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life" by Marshall Rosenberg prior to class. Although not required, you may find that you get more out of the class with this foundation.

What to bring:

Each session is three hours long, so please do bring what you need to support your comfort and attentiveness.  We will have a mid-session break.  Although we will provide some written materials, you may wish to bring a pen or pencil and pad of paper if you enjoy taking notes to assist you in remembering new ideas.

Tuition Details:

The tuition is between $125.00 and $150.00.
