NVC teaches us to listen for and value our own and others needs, and make compassionate conscious choices .  Can we apply these principles to the physical world around us, to all that lives.

Pam Orbach (Independent Trainer), and Marisa Hendron (Horticulturalist and NVC practitioner), have formed a partnership to offer an ongoing once a month 6 hour hands-on series that will create ongoing community for a year, (all 4 seasons)

We will work together to co-create a farm/garden, developing tangible practices  with permaculture-based horticulture skills, that you can take home to your own garden,
We’ll take an NVC-based approach to making decisions in the garden, and develop experiential understanding of how plants and soil communicate and how we can establish partnership in our surroundings.
As we learn and work, we will explore our internal landscape and sensory experience.  We’ll uncover ways that plants can serve as guides and teachers in all areas of our lives, and explore the challenge of learning to co-create with plants in a culture that sees plants as objects rather than agents.

This is a year-long community project with 10 sessions spaced throughout the year.  Each session will be held on a weekend day from 10-4 pm, and include time for getting our hands dirty as well as individual and group exploration/reflection on our work.  Each session will include lunch.

          Marisa's Bio:
I have been gardening professionally in Seattle since 2009.  I use regenerative practices drawn from permaculture and related fields to restore vitality to urban land while helping my clients deepen their relationship with their surroundings and non-human neighbors.  I’m delighted to share the richness and sense of belonging-to-the-world I receive from creating nourishing spaces for beings of all sorts. As my practice deepened, it became clear to me that healthy, resilient ecological communities can be understood through the depth and complexity of relationships between participants.  I became a dedicated practitioner of nonviolent communication in 2013 to support my purpose of cultivating life-enhancing relationship between all life forms.
